I won’t be going to Hawaii

In the warm and balmy air

I won’t be sitting on the Lanai

With a flower in my hair.

But my thoughts are on Oahu

Where the ocean is green and blue

I have dreams of sand and sunshine

And just being there with you

It’ s not the land, but it’s the music.

That draws my thoughts ashore again

To Waikiki and to Laie

Where there’s songs are in the air.

Dancing Hula and singing love songs.

Having luau with some friends.

Walking on the beach at nighttime.

Where the sun it just transcends.

Sweet memories of old Hawaii

Will always be within my heart.

But you are here, not on the island.

And you are always in my heart.

So well dream of sand and sunshine

Just at home.  Not on the beach.

But the songs from old Hawaii

Will always be within our reach.
