I AM CANADIAN “EH”
When you are Canadian and travel to other countries
– except to USA – people always refer to you as “American”.
I therefore liked this little reminder that was on
my Facebook yesterday.
Unfortunately, most of this is so true.
I have had questions from people from the United
States asking me “if we had tall buildings”?
Calgary, Alberta has 1.3 million people now. EH
What is the name of your President?
We don’t have a President. We have a “Prime
Minister”
How many “States” do you have?
We don’t have “States” We have “13 Provinces”.
Does everybody in Canada speak “French” as the main
language.
No, it is only in Quebec where the main language is
French. Nevertheless, many Canadians learn French in school.
Are all Canadians Socialists like in
Scandinavia?
No, All Canadians are not automatically
“Socialists” ?
When I moved to Toquerville - South Utah (close to
St.George) in 2011 I had this said to me: “Oh, you are from Canada” –
“So must be a Socialist”!!!!
Wow. Must admit I was stunned since I had voted conservative
all my Canadian life since I became a Canadian citizen 1972.
When I moved back Canada 2018, I had been “dummified” about
Canada -for almost eight years, since I have only heard or seen ANY news about
Canada once or twice on TV. Of course I can only blame myself because I
have not kept up on Canadian News,
The population - in general - in the United States do not learn much
about Canada in schools, and there is hardly ANYTHING news on TV or radio about
Canada, except if Trudeau made himself look funny in a costume
Unfortunately, since I moved back to Alberta 2018 I
no longer with a good conscience can vote for the Canadian Conservative
party. I was totally shocked to learn that that “Alberta” – tried
to separate themselves from the rest of Canada. We went through this
years ago with Quebec.
Actually, after living in the United States for almost eight years
and seeing what is happening to “what they used to call the
Conservative Party” I have changed my political stand, since it looks like
the future of "Democracy is in danger" in
USA.
Nevertheless, just because you can’t vote for the
Conservative party does not automatically mean “that you are a Socialist, even
though the United States could learn A LOT from Canada when it comes to take
care of their citizens healthcare.
Just spoke with a “former” Canadian - living in
Idaho - who has to start cancer treatment today. Minimum cost $10.000 -
on top of the insurance they have.
Not good – “don’t you agree” EH.
